The Janaka Foundation

The Janaka Foundation is a separately incorporated, non-profit foundation established to support the future of Ananda through estate gift planning.

By making an estate gift to the Janaka Foundation you will be providing future generations of truthseekers with the inspiration and timeless teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda, through the inspiration of his direct disciple, Nayaswami Kriyananda.

Our Mission Statement:
“To further spread the teachings and ideals of Paramhansa Yogananda, and his direct disciple, Nayaswami Kriyananda, and the practical application of those teachings and ideals worldwide, in all areas of human endeavor. This shall be accomplished through support of the Ananda Churches of Self Realization and their associated entities.”

Ananda’s work includes:

Ananda Sangha Worldwide ministries
These ministries include Kriya Yoga, the Ananda.org website, Online Classes, the Ananda Virtual Community, Healing Prayers, Meditation support, Meditation Group support, Ananda Espanol, Clarity Magazine, Treasures Along the Path, Radio Ananda and more.

Crystal Clarity Publishers
Crystal Clarity publishes and promotes the writings of Paramhansa Yogananda and Nayaswami Kriyananda (both digital and in print) as well as those of other Ananda members. In addition, Crystal Clarity publishes audio books, as well as music and chant recordings

The Joyful Arts
The Joyful Arts include music, drama, painting, sculpture, and many other expressions of the arts. The purpose of exploring the Joyful Arts, as written about in Nayaswami Kriyananda’s book, Art as a Hidden Message, is “to reach beyond the passing trends in art and see whether, in an overview, there may not be found a guideline to life’s true purpose and meaning.” The purpose of the Joyful Arts is to provide us with a direct experience of upliftment of consciousness and expansion of awareness.

Education for Life
While many traditional forms of education address the spiritual needs of a child as an afterthought, if at all, at Education for Life schools the spiritual needs of the child come first. Not surprisingly, we find that when children’s inner growth is nurtured, they thrive at all levels – emotionally, physically, and intellectually. The Education for Life philosophy, with its emphasis on the child’s spiritual development and the use of intuition and understanding of the energy fields of the brain and heart, has the potential to be the leading alternative education philosophy of the twenty-first century.

Ananda World Brotherhood Communities
Paramhansa Yogananda promoted the concept of World Brotherhood Communities during his lifetime. He talked with great enthusiasm about the ideal of “simple living and high thinking” – lived in intentional, spiritually-based communities where job, home and church could be all in one place. This, he said, would give people the support and the focus they need to deepen their spiritual lives.
Ananda has established five World Brotherhood Communities in the United States. These Ananda communities are comprised of churches, community living, businesses and schools and are based on Paramhansa Yogananda’s teachings and the Path of Kriya Yoga. They have been founded through the guiding leadership of Nayaswami Kriyananda, a foremost direct disciple of Paramhansa Yogananda.
